FIELD OF DREAMS, CORK

Field of Dreams Cork is an offshoot of Down Syndrome Cork, an organization run by parents with a Voluntary Board of Management. They offer vital support to approx. 360 families, 170 of whom have an adult family member living with Down syndrome.

Field of Dreams provides meaningful work and life skills development opportunities for adults with Down syndrome.

Down Syndrome Cork’s Field of Dreams is located on the Munster Agriculture society grounds at Curraheen, north of the N40. The initial development saw a 3 acre agricultural plot of land transformed into something magical - an educational and work based horticultural site.

CField Construction acted as PSCS and the Assigned Builder for this Project. We provided our services on a Pro-Bono basis to the project. We developed the design with PM Group, provided a BOQ and Cost Plan for the Project and leveraged our good will with our supply chain to provide the best value for DS Cork.

In many instances our supply chain provided material and labour at a significant discount to market rates and in some cases, material and labour was committed by our supply chain for free!

“CField were a pleasure to deal with on site. Given that it was a live site and the administrative offices continued to function throughout the project period, disruption was minimised and management of movement of staff to different locations within the building during the project was facilitated efficiently. Any issues or concerns raised were dealt with positively in a timely manner and the project was completed without delays.”
